My life story is a tapestry woven from six decades of personal experiences and professional learning threads. I want you to know a few things that I bring to all life coaching or speaking opportunities.

I have spent my life organizing my time and energy around the well-being and welfare of others, often making conscious choices that went against the grain of what was expected. As a pharmacist, I worked IN several retail settings and in a hospital setting, but I always worked FOR my patients. Following a trip to Israel, I left a lucrative pharmacy career to serve full-time in youth ministry and pursue seminary training in religious education. That career choice opened up the unorthodox opportunity to become the full-time primary caregiver and household manager for our family while my wife continued to build her career in corporate leadership.

It was in this phase where my wife’s career allowed us an extraordinary chance to move our family overseas - first to Wiesbaden, Germany (sadly, only for 14 months) and then to Shanghai, China (for 12 years). Living overseas and having our children in international schools created opportunities to serve as Director of Admissions for Concordia International School Shanghai - eventually migrating from that office into the classroom as a full-time middle school educator.

Once repatriated to the Atlanta area, I continued to serve in volunteer leadership roles in schools and churches where I constantly sought ways to challenge the stagnant status quo and chip away at the walls and barriers erected to exclude others. After our youngest son graduated from high school, I “retired” from school-oriented activities and discovered life coaching as a way of continuing to serve others in a meaningful way.

Nothing is more important to me than seeing family, friends, and others I meet succeed in their personal and professional lives. This is what led me to life coaching at this stage of my life. I don’t offer magical spells or shortcuts to better living. Instead, I offer experience and expertise as someone who will walk with you in your journey, inspire you to persevere through whatever storms you or your group are experiencing, and guide you in envisioning a new, more satisfying tapestry of life experiences!
